Anti-Spam Policy

Definition of Spam

Spam refers to any email dispatched to an individual who hasn't explicitly granted you the right to communicate with them about the particular subject of the email. Sending one unsolicited message to an individual is generally not spam, but when you send unsolicited emails to a large list of people you don’t know, that’s considered spam.

What kind of email addresses are acceptable to send to with Fireonmail?

To send an email through Fireonmail, you must have the recipient’s permission. This permission may be obtained through:

  • An email newsletter sign-up form on your website.
  • An opt-in checkbox on a form, which must not be pre-checked; the person filling out the form must actively select the checkbox to confirm they want to receive emails.
  • Offline forms, such as surveys or competitions, if it was made clear they would receive emails and they agreed by checking a box to confirm their interest.
  • Clients who have made purchases from you in the past two years.

What kind of email addresses are NOT acceptable for Fireonmail?

  • You do not have explicit, verifiable permission to contact the person on the topic of your email.
  • The address was purchased, rented, loaned, or otherwise acquired from a third party, regardless of any claims about quality or permission.
  • You haven’t contacted the recipient in over 2 years, as permission may no longer be valid.
  • You obtained the address by scraping or copying it from the web, as publishing an email online is not consent to receive emails.

What content MUST be included in emails sent through Fireonmail?

Each email dispatched through Fireonmail must incorporate a clear, one-click unsubscribe link that immediately eliminates the subscriber from your roster. Once a subscriber unsubscribes, you must stop sending emails to them unless they resubscribe.

Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend your account immediately and investigate if your campaigns experience a high percentage of spam complaints (over 0.2%), bounces (over 5%), unsubscribes (over 1%), or very low open rates (under 3%). If it’s determined that you sent emails without proper permission, your account may be terminated. We may ask for proof of recipient permission and may close your account if you cannot provide it. If permission is confirmed, your account will be reactivated.
